Develop descriptive data products that provide decision support for the Finance business units.

Senior Data Scientist ⋯ 2019-2022 Research and Development, Biogen Inc., Cambridge, MA

  • Lead analytical programming activities pertaining to biomarker data, clinical data, genomic data and other types of data analysis outside the typical analysis required for a clinical study report.

  • Develop/maintain clinical tools involving the R shiny package and/or other statistical methods in support of enrollment into clinical trials of neurological diseases. Some of the statistical tools developed and/or contributed:

    • SPARK: interactive statistical tool made in Shiny to further the clinic research study SPARK that investigates the effectiveness of a potential drug to treat Parkinson’s disease.

    • tidyCDISC: Shiny application to facilitate the creation of custom tables and figures from ADaM datasets (Github repo). The app was the 2020 RStudio Table Contest runner-up.

    • MMR Reporting Tool: Shiny application for medical monitoring, reviewing, and reporting.

    • Assay CV Calculation: tool developed in Shiny to calculate inter and intra assay CVs, and other relevant statistics.

    • Risk Assessment Application: interactive web application that provides a front end for a collection of metrics for R packages via the riskmetric package. The app is aimed to help in the validation of R packages in the context of regulated industries (GitHub repo).

    • In-Vivo ANOVA Application: statistical Shiny tool to help users perform exploratory analysis, assumption checks, ANOVA, multiple comparison, and power analysis.

RStudio Internship ⋯ Summer 2019 RStudio, Boston, MA

  • Project: Develop a modeling package (applicable) in R to demonstrate different methods to measure how much a new data point is an extrapolation from the original data. This project builds on applicability domain methods from computational chemistry to create functions that can be included in a dplyr pipeline to perform statistical checks on data in production

  • Mentor: Max Kuhn (RStudio Summer Interns).

Researcher ⋯ 2015 & 2013 University of Hawai’i at Hilo, HI

Conducted research in factorization theory as an undergraduate student and returned to the program two years later to guide/instruct a team of undergraduate students throughout the research process. Presented the findings of these two summers at the Joint Mathematics Meetings of January 2014 and 2016.
